Sending to your H/PC Important:
Don't transfer the QIF file using the Handheld PC Explorer. The
Pocket Finance Administrator converts the QIF file to a compressed
format that uses less space on your H/PC.
- Dock your H/PC to the PC on which you use Quicken or Money.
- Start Pocket Finance Administrator. Your PC should establish a connection to the H/PC. If it does not, see the online help for Microsoft's Handheld PC Explorer.
- Click this button or from the Transfer menu, choose Send to HPC.
- In the Open dialog, select the QIF file you exported from Quicken or Money. Then click Open.
- If you checked the Ask Starting Balance box in the Pocket Finance Properties dialog, you will be asked for the starting balance for the account. Type the amount you wrote down in the "Dealing with large accounts" section.
Note:
Typing an incorrect starting balance won't cause any problems
when you merge information back to your PC. However, the
balance shown on your H/PC will not be correct.
- If you checked the Use Multiple Accounts box, you will be asked for an account name to use on the H/PC. You can type a new name to create a new account or select an existing name to replace the account file.
If you cleared the Use Multiple Accounts box, the account name on
the H/PC will be "Pocket Finance Account".
- Watch the Status progress bars. The top bar will fill several times. The bottom bar will fill once. When the bars are empty again, the file has been transferred.
