In this chapter we've included steps for importing QIF files with the current versions of Quicken and Money. For details and information about using other versions, be sure to read the online help in Quicken or Money. Receiving from your H/PC
Important:
Don't transfer the file using the Handheld PC Explorer. The Pocket
Finance Administrator uncompresses the file on your H/PC from a
special format that uses less space.
- Dock your H/PC to the PC on which you use Quicken or Money.
- Start Pocket Finance Administrator.
- Click this button or from the Transfer menu, choose Receive from HPC. (See the "Smart Synchronization" section to learn how to transfer all accounts automatically.)
- In the H/PC Account dialog, select the account you want to transfer from your H/PC to Quicken or Money.
- If you want to create a new account on your PC, clear the check mark in the Copy ONLY new records box. (Pocket Finance Administrator normally copies only records you added on your H/PC so that you can import these records into an existing account without creating duplicate records.)
- In the Save As dialog, find the folder where you want to store the QIF file and type a file name. You don't need to type the .qif file extension.
- Watch the Status progress bars. When the bars are empty again the file has been transferred.
You can no longer edit transactions you entered on your H/PC after you transfer them to your PC. This prevents problems with transactions that have been change in different ways on both your PC and your H/PC.
